Beautiful reflection. "There is so much going on in the world that needs to be seen and understood, but simply seeing it is not enough. What can be seen must be connected with scripture, leading -- one would hope -- to people also seeing that their only hope lies in Jesus and His gospel, and not in their ability to solve their own problems apart from God. Although I admire some of the efforts, and especially the willingness to sacrifice for a good cause. But nothing we ourselves can offer will be enough." Agreed. We press on, for Him and His children.

Thank you for your encouragement. The Lord uses it to teach me, so it’s worth it even if it touches no one else. But it is a gift of grace from Him when I learn that others receive anything from it.

Thank you for this.

I am so grateful for your faithfulness.

The daily devotion is sometimes hard for me to grasp( I have always read the Bible through the books, old testament, and new, never in chronological) and just when I feel like I don’t get it- the summary comes and provides new insight- like I’ve never understood- the Word is alive and it’s amazing!

So thank you again I’m very grateful for you

''All of this busyness elsewhere explains my silence here."

I understand, I think. Your studies move at amazing speed. I used to do that in my early 40s, but in my early 70s I'm not moving at that pace any longer. But I follow along with you anyway, skimming a lot, and remembering my most recent times through those passages. And every now and then we cross paths in the same books.

Apart from that, a few other slower-paced studies online, and my barely-moving personal study, I also have two on-campus studies at my local church, one of which I now lead. I hadn't planned the "lead" part, but things happened and the group needed a new leader, again. It's turned out to be a study for offbeat people. Perfect.

All this study has purpose, not that I planned things that way. There is so much going on in the world that needs to be seen and understood, but simply seeing it is not enough. What can be seen must be connected with scripture, leading -- one would hope -- to people also seeing that their only hope lies in Jesus and His gospel, and not in their ability to solve their own problems apart from God. Although I admire some of the efforts, and especially the willingness to sacrifice for a good cause. But nothing we ourselves can offer will be enough.

The solution to that problem looks simple. But it is not, and I am having to learn new ways to relate things, in person and especially online. It's not what I was expecting at this stage of life, but I am far from disappointed.

I was abused really badly as a kid by my parents. I never fit into allopathic medicine. I knew they planned to kill us from the first day I payed attention on 3/11/2020.

I walked with a homeless guy named Freddie under the shops on front street at low tide once about 7 years ago. I fit with the outcasts. I was offered a Peds job on Big Island. It’s hard to believe that they killed the kids but I’m not shocked.

I totally believe it is about Christ. If we hold Christ in our hearts and treat all others, including children, as Christ would ……. the world would be transformed.
